Gymnastics

Today was another installment of gymnastics down at the PG center. Julie decided to take the camera so that she could record some of the action for posterity. Most of what ended up being recorded was Gwenyth cheesing at the camera. Apparently she does auto-cheese now when you point a camera at her. That’s why there are so many pictures of her.

You can see that the girls need some new gear for gymnastics. Abby’s is at least 2 sizes too small, but she doesn’t seem to mind. In fact, once she got home, she laced her roller skates up and went around the neighborhood like a purple flamingo, long legs and all. I’m not too sure that the neighbors were impressed, but I enjoyed watching her try to navigate the not so flat streets here. Luckily there is grass to break her many falls.

Grandma and Grandpa Elcock are coming tomorrow night for what promises to be loads of fun. We’ll try and entertain the best we can, though we all know why they’re coming. Hopefully they’ll be as excited about seeing the girls on Monday as they seem to be now. The girls are all excited wondering what sorts of fun things we’ll do.

Gwen turns one tomorrow (today I guess, it’s after midnight). Hard to believe. Maybe that’s why she’s extra cheesy.

Oh, by the way, Suns rule.

Hey Vinny

Dave and Marilyn got a new bull terrier a week or so ago. Their longtime buddy, Thor, got pretty sick and didn’t make it. So they got a new dog and named him Vince. It’s crazy that Maddie also died in the same time. But instead of getting another dog, mom and dad are just left with the lovely cat, Lucifer. I’m sure that lovable pile of fluff will fill the void.

We upgraded Gwenyth’s daily intake of ramen noodles by going to Panda Express tonight. We (read: Julie) signed us up to clean the church tonight. So we all went down there and did some vacuuming, cleaning, and whatever else we could. It was fun. Then we watched the spectacle of Gwen pounding the noodles. It was a sight to behold.

We got home around 7:00 and since it was still light outside, the girls went out to play for a bit. The neighbors came over and joined in on the fun. They’re all dressed like it’s the middle of summer. It was pretty warm, I guess. The blood apparently isn’t as thin as it once was.

Here are a few videos:

Update: Apparently Google messed up the videos so now they’re only 3 seconds long. I’ll have to take care of that a little later I guess.

Update #2: I uploaded the videos again, which work as of late Tuesday night. We’ll see what Google does to them tonight.

Back to work today

I went back to work today for the first time in what seems like a very long time. I think it seemed even longer to Julie. She said to me today: “Now that you’re feeling a little better, can I just tell you how pathetic you were?” Then she proceeded to make fun of me and breathe heavy through her nose. Thanks luv.

Returning to work was interensting. We fired one of our big vendors because they’ve been continually late with their deliverables. Now others are left to pick up the pieces. It seems to be perpetually in transition there, but the people are good. Plus I got a new monitor and some fancy new computer. That’s worth something, right?

Julie’s still on her housing hunt. I’m still on my bearish rampage. We’ll probably meet somewhere in the middle, but still end up spending more than we should. Julie wants something new. I want something not new, which means that the yard is all done. I’d rather put the money I would have to put into a yard into redoing something in the house that Julie isn’t wild about. We’ll see.

Lucy had her music class again today. She’s still not herself, so was pretty ornery I guess. She was pretty ornery when I got home and pretty much whined herself to sleep. We should have given her the vodka at 7 instead of 9.

No more ranting

My last post didn’t go off so well, so I’m doing another quickie here to push the last one down the page. It’s beautiful out today, but pretty cold. 32 right now, the weather says. We’re supposed to get some snow tomorrow. Of course we were supposed to get some snow the last few days. Salt Lake City got about 8 inches. We got barely a skiff. We’ll see how this next one goes.

I think the sicknesses are on the downward slope now. We’ll probably get out and look at some more homes this coming weekend. The girls are looking forward to it, I’m sure.
